The founders recognised that the average Malaysian consumer was being served by a fragmented ecosystem of insurance agents, unit trust consultants, and bank representatives, each incentivised to promote their own institution's products rather than provide comprehensive, independent advice. Ahmad Firdaus is the Founder and Principal Adviser of Adwise Capital Sdn. Bhd. With over 18 years of combined experience in the banking, insurance, and financial advisory sectors, he established the firm to address what he saw as a fundamental gap in the Malaysian financial landscape: the absence of truly independent, client-centric advisory services.
Ahmad holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Universiti Malaya and is a certified Financial Adviser accredited by Bank Negara Malaysia. He has completed advanced certifications in retirement planning, estate management, and behavioural finance. His professional philosophy is grounded in the conviction that effective financial planning requires not only technical competence but also a deep understanding of human psychology, family dynamics, and the emotional dimensions of money.
Prior to founding Adwise Capital, Ahmad spent a decade in the commercial banking sector, where he held leadership roles in wealth management and retail banking. It was during this period that he observed firsthand the systemic conflicts of interest that prevented conventional financial institutions from delivering genuinely impartial advice. This experience crystallised his resolve to create an advisory practice where the client's interest would always come first — structurally, not just rhetorically.
Beyond his professional work, Ahmad is a passionate advocate for financial literacy in Malaysia. He regularly conducts pro bono workshops for underprivileged communities, contributes to financial education initiatives in partnership with local universities, and mentors young professionals entering the financial services industry. He lives in Petaling Jaya with his wife and three children, and is an avid reader of economic history and behavioural science.
